What Players Need

Here’s what to have ready before the season starts. If you have any questions, we’re here to help.

Glove
Sized to the player’s hand.
Bat
General method is to measure from the center of your chest to the tip of your outstretched fingertips; the distance roughly corresponds to the ideal bat length in inches.
Helmet
Required for all batters. Face guard required for U9 and up.
Cleats
Cleats (rubber) are optional for U9 and mandatory for U11 and up.
Fielding mask
Required for U9 and up.

First Season Tips

New to the program? Here’s what we wish someone had told us.

You don’t need top-of-the-line gear
Especially for younger age groups, used equipment works great. Save the investment until the player settles into the sport.
What to bring to the first practice
Glove, bat, helmet, water bottle, sunscreen. Wear comfortable athletic clothes and cleats if you have them.
Practice at home with the right ball
Catching and throwing with the same size ball they use in games helps build confidence and muscle memory — even 10 minutes in the backyard makes a difference.
